Hundreds of people in Nepal call themselves SEO experts. The title tells you almost nothing. It carries no certification, and it is used as freely by someone six months into the work as by someone running campaigns across several countries.
So if you are an Australian, American or British business considering an SEO expert in Nepal, the useful question is not who has the title. It is who has the evidence.
The short answer
Judge any SEO specialist in Nepal on evidence rather than claims. Look for verified results from real accounts, experience in your specific market, confirmation that the person you brief does the work, and a clear commitment that you own every account and all your data. Those four things separate strong candidates from the rest far more reliably than a job title or a price.
Why businesses abroad hire SEO from Nepal
Cost is part of it. Senior work from Kathmandu is priced well below the Sydney, London or New York equivalent.
The bigger reason is exposure. A large share of Nepal’s SEO work is for overseas brands, so the strongest specialists here run campaigns across several countries at once. They have handled multi-market setups, market-specific keyword research and the problems that appear when one site serves several countries. That depth is hard to find in a freelancer who has only ever worked their home market.
What separates a strong SEO expert in Nepal
Four things, and every one of them is checkable.
| What to look for | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Verified results | Search Console data over time proves the work happened. A rounded percentage proves nothing. |
| Experience in your market | Search behaviour, vocabulary and competition differ between Australia, the US and the UK. |
| The person you brief does the work | No handover to a junior team after the sales call. |
| You own every account | Search Console, Analytics and Tag Manager stay yours whoever you work with. |
Judge any provider on those four, me included.
Tip: Ask any candidate what the first thing is they would look at on your site, and why. A strong specialist names a specific likely problem. A weaker one describes their general process.
How to verify someone you cannot meet
Remote hiring makes verification the part worth spending time on.
Look for real data. Results expressed as clicks and impressions over a stated period, from Search Console, carry weight. Round numbers with no timeframe do not.
Check independent profiles. LinkedIn history and recommendations, and platforms such as Clutch where clients leave their own reviews.
Commission a paid sample audit on your own site. It shows how they think about your problems, how clearly they explain them, and whether their priorities match yours. It tells you more than any portfolio.
Have a video call before you commit, so you judge how they communicate.
Expect some limits. Specialists working under client confidentiality agreements cannot always name clients or share accounts. That is professional rather than evasive. What they should always offer is specific detail about what the problem was, what they changed, and what happened.
Working across time zones
Kathmandu sits well for international work. Australian eastern time runs four to five hours ahead, and the UK and much of Europe run around five hours behind, so each shares a solid part of the working day.
Most international SEO work runs on written, asynchronous communication in any case. Reports, recommendations and questions move back and forth in writing, which works across any time zone and leaves a clear record of every decision. English is standard across Nepal’s professional and technical work.
Individual specialist or agency
Nepal has both, and the difference matters more than the price.
| Individual specialist | Agency | |
|---|---|---|
| Who does the work | The senior person you hired | Often a team, sometimes junior staff |
| Communication | Direct, with the person doing the work | Usually through an account manager |
| Attention | A small number of clients, each given real focus | Spread across a larger client base |
| Depth | Specialised in search | Broader, across several marketing services |
| Suits | Businesses wanting senior, hands-on SEO | Businesses wanting several services from one supplier |
If organic search is what you need, an experienced individual specialist usually gets you senior judgement on every decision, at a lower cost than an agency charges for the same seniority.
Payment, contracts and ownership
International payment is routine. Bank transfer works, as do Wise transfers straight to a Nepali bank account and Payoneer, which many Nepali specialists use for international clients. Many invoice in US dollars, Australian dollars or British pounds, which removes exchange-rate guesswork.
Put scope, reporting and notice period in writing before work starts, with a confidentiality agreement if your data is sensitive.
Tip: Your Search Console, Analytics and Tag Manager accounts should be owned by your business and shared with the specialist, never created under their login. Your data then stays yours regardless of who you work with.
Where I fit
I am an SEO specialist based in Kathmandu, working on international accounts every day. I run multi-market campaigns across seven markets, Australia, New Zealand, the US, the UK, Canada, Europe and Nepal, and across six language markets.
The work has driven more than one million organic clicks and 62 million search impressions. An Australian ecommerce brand grew organic clicks by 180%, with average position improving from 9.7 to 6.6. A wellness platform’s US market went from nothing to 139,000 clicks per quarter, and its UK market reached 71,600 clicks. A German market was built from zero to roughly 6,800 clicks within six months. Every figure comes from Search Console, and you will find them on the case studies page.
My deepest work is in ecommerce, Shopify and international SEO. You work with me directly, and every account stays under your ownership.
If you run an agency and want to offer SEO under your own brand, there is a white-label option. To see how I would approach your site, request an SEO audit.

Frequently asked questions
How do I choose the right SEO expert in Nepal?
Judge them on evidence. Look for verified Search Console results, experience in your market, confirmation that the person you brief does the work, and a commitment that you own every account.
Is it safe to hire an SEO expert from Nepal?
Yes, provided you verify their experience and agree terms in writing. Check real results and independent reviews, commission a sample audit, and keep your accounts under your own ownership.
Is SEO from Nepal cheaper than hiring locally?
Usually by a wide margin for the same seniority. Pricing still varies with scope, site size and the number of markets, so compare what each quote includes rather than the figure alone.
Do SEO experts in Nepal work with international businesses?
Many work on international accounts every day, including multi-country and multilingual sites. Ask specifically whether they have worked in your market.
How do I check an SEO expert’s results?
Ask for Search Console data showing clicks and impressions over a stated period, check independent profiles with client reviews, and commission a paid sample audit on your own site.
How do I pay an SEO specialist in Nepal?
Bank transfer, Wise to a Nepali bank account, and Payoneer are all common. Agree the invoicing currency upfront.
Should I hire an individual specialist or an agency?
If organic search is what you need, an experienced individual specialist gives you senior judgement on every decision. An agency suits businesses wanting several marketing services from one supplier.
Who owns the work when I hire offshore?
You should. Content, reports, dashboards and every account should belong to your business. Agree this in writing before work starts.
